Sinclair Broadcast Group’s WWMT-TV (Kalamazoo) is partnering with local businesses for the Salvation Army of Kalamazoo’s annual Share the Warmth coat drive. The project runs the entire month of October with the goal of providing hundreds of area children new coats for the winter.
“No one in Kalamazoo should be without a coat this winter,” said the Salvation Army’s Tim Summer.. Annually, the project collects and distributes more than 1300 coats to those in need in the community.
Salvation Army leaders said that for every adult coat distributed, there is a need for three children’s coats.
More than 25 locations around Kalamazoo County — including the WWMT studios have agreeded to host a drop off box for new and gently used coats for boys, girls, men, and women.
