WWJ’s 17th Winter Survival Radiothon For THAW Raises $1.4M In Heating Assistance

Entercom’s WWJ-AM (Detroit) held their 17th Winter Survival Radiothon for THAW
, The Heat and Warmth Fund on February 7, raising $1.4 million dollars over fourteen hours.

The radiothon was presented with help from DTE Energy and Kroger, along with the assistance of other sponsors.  THAW assists families in need by preventing utility shut-off, providing fuel or restoring services. Over 92 cents of every single dollar raised by THAW goes directly to those in need, and THAW’s utility partners match every dollar that THAW raises so that $1 becomes $2 in energy assistance.

An online auction in conjunction with the event continued until February 10.
