WFCX/WFDX to Sign Off Pending Ownership Changes

Northern Broadcast’s WFCX-FM (Leland) and WFDX-FM (Atlanta) has announced (2/26) that the stations will be leaving the air at midnight on February 29.  WFCX was recently sold to Central Michigan University and that sale was approved by the FCC on February 21.  It is expected that WFCX will become a satellite station of WCMU-FM (Mt. Pleasant), joining their current 7-station network.

No buyer has been announced yet for Northern’s WFDX-FM, WSRT-FM (Gaylord) and WSRJ (Honor/Traverse City).

In a heartwarming post on its Facebook page, the station thanked their listeners. advertisers and community partners:  “The Fox went on the air on February 17, 2003 and we cannot express how much you have meant to all of us here at The Fox!! We appreciate everyone that has been part of our journey.”
