Two Michigan Station Sales Announced
On November 12, two applications were filed with the FCC for transfer of license. David L. Smith has filed to sell WCHY-FM (Cheboygan) to Michigan Broadcasters, LLC. Michigan Broadcasters is owned by Victoria A. Bishop of Kewadin, Michigan. The sale includes a local programming and marketing agreement. Smith acquired the station in 2018 as part of a station swap with Black Diamond Broadcast Holdings. WCHY is a class C3 station on 97.7 mHz with 3.4kw ERP at 499 feet.
Todd Mohr’s Mitten Media, LLC has filed to sell WMTE-FM (Manistee) to Bryan and Joyce Hollenbaugh’s 45 North Media, LLC. 45 North Media has been operating the station under a LMA since November of 2018. WMTE is a class A station on 106.3 mHz with 6kw ERP at 328 feet. 45 North Media also owns WMJZ-FM (Gaylord).
