Transmitter Logging and Equipment Monitoring

FCC Requirements and Technological Evolution

Since remote control of transmitters was first authorized by the FCC decades ago, there have been extensive changes in the FCC’s requirements and rules, the transmission standards themselves, and monitoring system technologies. This presentation will consolidate FCC logging requirements from scattered rules into a readily understandable summary, discuss the operating parameters that should be monitored in today’s transmission systems, and review the technologies available to facilitate rule compliance and station operational integrity.
