After initial uncertainty over possible defects in the petition language for the part-time legislature proposal, the Bureau of Elections is now satisfied that Lt. Governor Brian Calley’s part-time legislature petition meets the “technical requirements” in state law. That means the language could go to a Board of State Canvassers for consideration to be approved as early as this week. The petition includes language to make legislature part-time with no more than 90 consecutive session days and cuts legislators’ pay in half.
