Job Summary | Major goals and objectives:

WNEM, a Meredith Corporation TV station, is recruiting for a National Sales Coordinator. The National Sales Coordinator works under the direction of the General Sales Manager to provide sales support/service duties pertaining to all national advertising business. Performs entry and confirmation of national sales orders. Negotiates make goods and spot placement to maximize station revenue. Negotiates and schedules quarterly paid programming. Maintain communications with all rep offices and provide Medialine reports on a weekly and quarterly basis. This position also coordinates, contacts and troubleshoots the station Obits Michigan iniatiative. Iin addition to billing on a monthly basis, will work with the General Sales Manager, funeral home directors and families using the Obitsmichigan.com One 60%
60%-Performs entry and confirmation of national sales orders.  Handles National discrepancies, make goods, late runs in conjunction with the General Sales Manager and Rep firm.   Takes initiative to assist General Sales Manager and national reps on requests, proposals, information, packages.   Maintains and updates national account files, as well as public/political files during political years.
25%-Solicit, negotiate, schedule, book and oversee payment process for paid programming, including providing post log negotiations on paid schedules in conjunction with the General Sales Manager and HUB.
10%-Manage Rep Medialine databaase on all national order confirmations. Oversee medialine reports and manage Wide Orbit schedules and inventory control.  Works with Obits, billing, client contact and troubleshooting issues with clients and the hub.
5%-Performs additional tasks as required by General Sales Manager.

 

Requirements (Experience, Education, Etc.):

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College/University/Technical degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Previous sales/service support or office experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer skills utilizing Wide Orbit and Microsoft software including Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word preferred. Strong organization and phone skills. Strong verbal and writing skills. Attention to detail and follow through. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and communicate diplomatically with all clients, viewers, and local representatives. Travel required - Approx. 5% local travel only.
