WZZM-TV (Grand Rapids) has announced the addition of Michigan native Emily Scarlett as an anchor/reporter. Scarlett was born and raised in Southfield and got her start in broadcasting working at WILS-AM (Lansing) after graduating from the University of Michigan.
Her journey to television news broadcasting began in Montana, anchoring a new nightly newscast at KFBB-TV (Great Falls). After two years, she moved on to become a morning anchor, producer and reporter at WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Illinois, spending seven years at the station. Before joining WZZM this month, Scarlett was an anchor/reporter at WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina.
Scarlett is currently anchoring WZZM’s Morning News weekdays from 4:30 to 7:00 a.m.
