Congress Passes Stimulus Bill that Includes Relief for Broadcasters

From the NAB:

March 27, 2020

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a $2 trillion stimulus package, which among other things provides substantial funding for business-oriented economic relief in response to the coronavirus pandemic. I am pleased the final legislation includes provisions NAB strongly advocated for on behalf of broadcasters to ensure your ability to stay on the air and serve your communities during this critical time.

We know this is an extremely difficult time for local stations, and our advocacy team has been working around the clock on your behalf. NAB fought for several of the key tax relief, small business and lending programs that were included in the bill.

KEY PROVISIONS FOR BROADCASTERS

I thank you for your tremendous dedication to providing your listeners and viewers with the most trusted news and information to help them keep safe. As Congress considers additional legislative measures to address the deepening crisis businesses face, we continue to advocate for meaningful relief for the broadcast industry to ensure you can be there for your communities when they need you most.

If you have any questions, please email advocacy@nab.org.

Sincerely,

Gordon H. Smith
