Bill ‘Broadway’ Bertschinger Joins MacDonald-Garber

Bill “Broadway” Bertschinger

After departing as APD/afternoon host at Cumulus Media’s WDRQ-FM (Detroit) last month, Bill ‘Broadway’ Bertschinger has joined MacDonald Garber Broadcasting as Program Director of CHR WKHQ-FM (Charlevoix) and Classic Country WSRT-FM (Gaylord).  Both stations serve the Traverse City market.

He will also host mornings with Kristin ‘KP’ Penrose. Penrose also joins MacDonald-Garber from Cumulus Detroit, where she was a promotions assistant. Broadway was recipient of a Best Morning Show award from the MAB in 2021.

He told AllAccess, “I’m so grateful for this opportunity. I’ve never been a PD, but I’m ready. I’ve learned from some of the best and I have a plan to take both stations to new heights! Thanks to Peter, Tad and Trish (Garber) for believing in me.”

Broadway previously hosted mornings at WDSY-FM (Pittsburgh), WWYZ-FM (Hartfied) and WKIS-FM (Miami).  He also has on-air stints at  WSNX-FM and WBCT-FM (Grand Rapids) as well as KSLZ-FM (St. Louis).
