A nationally syndicated radio program produced by Hillsdale College has recently launched and to say the team at WRFH is excited would be an understatement. The new program, The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour, is currently broadcast on nine stations in three states.
The Radio Free Hillsdale Hour is talk radio at its finest. It addresses “public affairs and news through the lens of Hillsdale College’s classical liberal arts education.” Interviews with national scholars, Hillsdale College events and announcements and explorations of various elements of a liberal arts education are just a few of the topics explored on the program. WRFH general manager Scot Bertram and an assistant Hillsdale College student producer currently host the show.
“We worked for a long time to develop an entertaining, sustainable format and think this is going to be a successful, long-term way for the college to allow listeners to feel what it’s like to be on Hillsdale’s campus. So many talk radio listeners already know about the school. We think it’s a natural fit for the weekend line-up on many stations,” said Bertram. “Talk radio listeners already know Hillsdale by reputation. Now they’ll have the opportunity to hear from the school’s faculty, staff, alumni and others directly.”
