Hooked On Scouting Event
Attn: Public Service Director
Use the right bait, and you’ll catch more fish – and boys!
This fall, the Boy Scouts of America all across the state of Michigan will be offering an incentive gift of a free fishing rod, reel and event where every new Cub Scout can go to try their skills. This program courtesy of corporate sponsors and private donors was incredibly successful last year and we are excited to offer it again.
Today, more than ever boys in the state of Michigan need Cub Scouting. In existence for over 100 years the Boy Scouts of America has designed the Cub Scouting program to help boys build character and develop leadership skills all through while having fun. In fact, the mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by teaching the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Imagine if every youth in Michigan were learning these lessons. Through the partnership with the MAB last year and the local broadcasters, we heard advertisements for the “Hooked on Scouting” program from Traverse City to Kalamazoo. Membership increased significantly, bringing Scouting to youth that may not have had the incentive to join.
Again this year, we are asking for your help. Beginning July 15th through September 30th, please use the following library of PSA’s produced by the Boy Scouts of America to promote our Hooked on Scouting campaign. In video and radio format, Pro Bass fisherman, Tom Reddington is featured speaking to the excitement of Cub Scouts while advertising the rod and reel gift.
Your interest in helping us get the word out plays a vital role in the success of this campaign. By picking up our advertising to include in your advertising time you are not only helping the Boy Scouts of America with this event, but you are making an investment in the youth of Michigan.
