MAB Honors Congressman John D. Dingell
Congressman John D. Dingell (D-15) will be recognized by the MAB for a lifetime of public service Monday, August 20, 6:00 PM at the Motor City Casino Hotel in Detroit, as part of the MAB Chairman's Banquet.



Since his election to office 58 years ago, Congressman Dingell has proven to be a great ally and proponent of free over-the-air broadcasting. He has championed many issues of importance and makes every effort to keep broadcasting strong. The Congressman has always appreciated the extensive public service that broadcasters do for their communities, especially their role in emergency notification.



In his 29th consecutive term in Congress, Dingell is a respected senior statesman, dean of the house, the longest serving member of the United States House of Representatives. Congressman Dingell is a man of power whether he chairs a committee or sits on it. He serves exclusively as senior member of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee and spent 16 years as its chair. He sits on all of the six subcommittees. Congressman Dingell is among the most knowledgeable individuals on telecommunications issues in the House of Representatives.
