Broadcaster Information for October 12 Gubernatorial Town Hall Forum
Detroit Public Television, The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press will co-host a Town Hall Forum featuring Republican Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and Democrat Congressman Mark Schauer from 6-7 p.m. on Sunday October 12, 2014 on the campus of Wayne State University in Detroit.
The Forum will be open for credentialed journalists to cover the event in person. Additionally, it is being made available for live and/or recorded broadcast to every commercial and public broadcaster in Michigan and for webcast to every Michigan news organization.
The Town Hall Forum will include an audience of undecided voters, chosen by independent research companies contracted by both the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News. The voters will ask questions of the two candidates, along with Detroit Free Press Editorial Page Editor Stephen Henderson and Detroit News Editorial Page Editor Nolan Finley. Detroit Public TV Anchor Christy McDonald will serve as the event’s host.
Journalists will be able to watch the Forum in a designated room in the same building as the Forum. Following the TV broadcast, both candidates will be available for questions from journalists, also in the same building.

Radio stations wishing to carry the feed should coordinate with their local public television station and pick up the audio feed off air.

While the broadcast feed will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a generic introduction, the Forum itself will begin at 6:01 p.m. to allow stations picking up the feed to begin their broadcasts with a localized :60 introduction, if they choose. End time is scheduled for 6:56:46 p.m.
